About Us
Dr Tracey Sahraie started in optics in 1986 at age of 17 as trainee optical technician, glazing spectacles in a lab in West Midlands, whilst studying A levels at evening classes.
She qualified in optometry at The City University, London with First Class Honours Degree and Prizes in Clinical Practice and Professional and Legal Studies in 1991.
Afterwards she studied Medicine at King’s College, London whilst working part-time as optometrist and obtained an MSc in Neurological Science in 1995 followed by a Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1998.
Dr Sahraie worked as Junior Doctor at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary later in 1998 whilst continuing links with optometry through part-time locum work.
Following birth of her fourth child in 2001, she moved back into optometry, employed by Duncan and Todd, initially as optometrist at Inverurie branch and, since 2004 as their Professional Services Manager with the role of co-ordinating clinical activities within the company.
Dr Sahraie established Ythan Opticians in 2006 with the aim to provide professional eye care at affordable prices. She is on the committee of Grampian Area Optometric Committee and a Member of Grampian Eye Health Network.
